Product Safety Engineer

Product Safety Engineer needed to inspect, test, and photograph products for conformity assessment using international and national regulations, providing engineering expertise and operational support for Product Safety Testing.

TÜV SÜD America, a leading provider of testing and certification services, seeks a highly skilled Product Safety Engineer to join its team. As a Product Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of products with international and national regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform safety testing and inspections to ensure products meet regulatory requirements
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for customer products
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their testing needs and provide solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design theory, product standards, and testing procedures
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide technical feedback
  • Ensure test areas and equipment are in good condition and ready for testing
  • Actively work with the regional product safety team to prepare and host audits
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers

Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of product safety experience
  • Previous experience with consumer product safety standards and medical standards
  • Understanding of ISO 17025, CRM, and SAP platforms
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a positive outlook and motivated attitude
  • Ability to plan and organize with attention to detail
  • Comfortable dealing with customers at all levels
