Job Summary:
Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to support the procurement of materials and services for the River Class Destroyer program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize procurement spend and delivery value to the business.
- Manage supplier relationships, including qualification, negotiation, and performance management.
- Perform full life cycle procurement activities, including contract preparation, execution, and administration.
- Manage purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement-related documents.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely advice is provided to support progress and schedule adherence.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, or three years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
- Comprehensive depth and breadth of end-to-end procurement knowledge achieved through significant on-the-job work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in shipbuilding, aerospace/defense, heavy manufacturing, or construction industry.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite.
