Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance and repair of all machinery, equipment, and facilities within the manufacturing plant. This role involves leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and complies with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Operations: Oversee the day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring all equipment and facilities function efficiently and safely.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians to maximize productivity and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime and extend the life of machinery.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly and effectively diagnose equipment failures and implement solutions to minimize production interruptions.
- Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Budget Management: Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and equipment.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing, parts procurement, and other maintenance-related needs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and other departments to proactively ensure seamless operations and address maintenance-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Education: A degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of food processing equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing a maintenance team.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Safety Focus: In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
