Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee nursing team operations and ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
  • Develop and implement clinical care programs to improve resident outcomes and quality of life.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop nursing staff to ensure a skilled and dedicated team.
  • Collaborate with the DOC to ensure nursing practice aligns with provincial governing body and organizational vision, mission, and values.
  • Monitor and evaluate staffing patterns to ensure adequate resources and effective use of nursing personnel.
  • Contribute to the development of job routines for all nursing personnel.
  • Ensure clinical care is delivered in a resident-centered and evidence-based manner.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the provincial College of Nurses.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical nursing in seniors' care.
  • Excellent proficiency with WORD, email, internet use, and computerized documentation.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Willingness to upgrade and maintain personal and educational qualifications as required by the changing demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing or equivalent post-diploma education.
  • Knowledge of provincial Long Term Care Act & Regulations.
