Director of Resident Care
Mon Sheong Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Resident Care to lead our nursing and personal care services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of resident care and quality of life, while maintaining a balanced budget.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Supervise and manage nursing services, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legislations and organizational standards.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of clinical programs, such as Falls Prevention, Skin and Wound Care, Continence Care, and Pain Management.
- Recruit, orient, and develop nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Participate in the CARF Accreditation process to ensure our services meet the highest standards.
- Establish positive relationships with residents, family members, staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Monitor and review staffing plans and financial performance to maintain a balanced budget.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current membership with the Gerontological Nursing Association (GNA) and Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) is desirable.
- Valid CPR (Health Care Provider Level C) and First Aid certificates.
- Post-RN education in nursing administration and management, preferably with a BScN and/or business degree in health management.
- At least 1 year of experience working as a registered nurse in the long-term care sector.
- At least 3 years of experience working as a registered nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership, initiative, and continuous improvement skills.
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an asset.
