About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Services Representative to join our team at the University of Northern British Columbia. As a key member of our International Student Services team, you will provide exceptional support to international students, ensuring a smooth and successful academic experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide front-line student support and act as a supporting administrative resource to the Office of the Registrar, International.
  • Assist with the administration of the mandatory international medical insurance and matters related to immigration.
  • Maintain and improve electronic and hard copy filing systems, records, and databases.
  • Proofread, edit, and format written materials, including general correspondence, promotional and informational materials, and web content.
  • Provide operational-level administrative support and budget monitoring, including expense tracking, credit card reconciliations, cheque requisitions, and travel claims.
  • Assist with meetings, special projects, and event planning.
  • Provide administrative support for mobility programs and respond to inquiries from inbound and outbound exchange students.
  • Ensure the maintenance and distribution of adequate office supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in orientation sessions, understand cultural differences, and work to promote diversity.
  • Assist the Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Officer with informational requests.
  • Clean up data, maintain records, and system testing.
Requirements
  • A one-year certificate/diploma in office or business administration, together with a minimum of two years' related experience in a post-secondary environment, ideally within a Registrar's Office or Student Services setting.
  • A strong background in office and administrative procedures and practices.
  • Proficiencies in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and email software.
  • A working knowledge of relational database interfaces (i.e. Banner).
  • The ability to work independently in a busy and challenging environment, as an active member of an integrated team.
  • The ability to prioritize workload in an environment with multiple and changing deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with an aptitude for customer service.
  • A working knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
  • Familiarity with BC Health Insurance and Canada Immigration process is an asset.
What We Offer

The University of Northern British Columbia offers a competitive salary range of $55,091.40 to $57,348.20, with a normal starting salary of $55,091.40, pro-rated based on length of term. We also offer excellent benefit packages and employee training and development opportunities.
