Job Title: Network Security Engineer

Company: The Mobility House

The Mobility House is seeking a self-motivated Network Security Engineer to support its mission to accelerate the transition to zero-emission transportation. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the company's software and onsite hardware work within customer and partner networking setups.

About the Role

This Network Security Engineer will be responsible for providing remote support for network-related issues in charging infrastructure, including diagnosing connectivity problems between programmable logic controllers and electric vehicle charging stations. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and managing DMZ for secure network architecture, as well as proficiency in debug tools such as tcpdump, nmap, iptables, and wireshark.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote support for network-related issues in charging infrastructure
  • Assist in the configuration and optimization of network setups for complex electric vehicle charging infrastructure
  • Configure and manage firewalls to ensure network security and compliance with organizational policies
  • Monitor network performance to identify bottlenecks or issues, and optimize network configurations for improved performance
  • Support pre- and post-sales network security inquiries
  • Own full scope of networking expert function for The Mobility House North America

Requirements

  • Proficient in Network Address Translation (NAT), and firewall technologies
  • Experience setting up and managing DMZ for secure network architecture
  • Demonstrated proficiency of debug tools such as tcpdump, nmap, iptables, and wireshark
  • Experience in remote debugging of traffic between IoT devices
  • Strong understanding of network configurations and troubleshooting in Linux
  • Working knowledge of Linux/containers, Cloud PaaS / SaaS architecture, and security / compliance frameworks
  • Experience fielding technical customer questions and solutions
  • Knowledge of penetration/vulnerability testing/scanning

  • Background in networking of electric vehicle charging infrastructure
  • Past roles as sole subject matter expert at innovative startup
  • Experience collaborating with external cybersecurity and IT teams
  • Comfortable setting up, maintaining, and debugging OpenVPN technologies
  • Certifications such as CompTia Network+ or Security+, CISSP, CCNP
  • Experience providing internal IT support
  • Ability to travel to the United States
  • Strong interest in The Mobility House's mission
