Requirements:

  • Technical capability, including data modeling and financial analysis, marketing initiatives, startup frameworks, and business models.
  • High level of empathy for the founders and startups we work with, and for the ever-changing unknown.
  • Some banking or financial analysis experience, ideally 1-2 years in commercial lending or business banking, or at a VC fund, or in a similar analytical role.
  • Understanding and thorough knowledge of the technology and innovation startup ecosystem in Ottawa, Ontario North & East regions, and Canada and the US broadly.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience as an entrepreneur, launching a business, working in a start-up, or advising/mentoring and working with early stage tech startups.
  • Academic exposure through a post-secondary diploma/degree in commerce or business administration, or a sciences related degree and/or related experience.
  • Business development and/or client relationship management experience.
