Live-in Maintenance Technician

Realstar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Live-in Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper physical maintenance of our properties, including the grounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and replacements of equipment and fixtures.
  • Ensure that all maintenance systems, including pumps, emergency generators, swimming pools, sprinklers, ventilation, boilers, and other equipment, are in good working order.
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of all mechanical, HVAC, and sprinkler systems.
  • Respond to and address any maintenance, repairs, and inquiries from residents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform snow removal, salting of entrances, walkways, and rooftop accesses, and maintenance of snow removal log books.
  • Handle garbage and recycling bins, and maintain the cleanliness of the property.
  • Perform minor repairs and aptitude for mechanical systems.
  • Supervise service providers and contractors, and oversee the quality of work performed.
  • Conduct pre-inspections of vacant suites, and coordinate with the Property Manager to ensure scheduling of contractors and staff for maintenance of the property.

Requirements:

  • Background in residential property management or related business experience.
  • Strong customer service and selling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to deal with residents, prospects, colleagues, and trades.
  • Management skills to coach, train, and motivate staff, and develop a team environment.
  • Maintain a professional and presentable appearance at all times.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and aptitude for mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated cleaning skills.
  • Ability to lift and push heavy objects, including garbage bins, furniture, and appliances, or perform snow removal duties, sometimes for extended periods of time.
