Job Summary:

The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform financial analysis and forecasting to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support business decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Board policies
  • Provide support to corporate initiatives and projects through financial analysis and reporting
Requirements:
  • Actively pursuing the final stages of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) accounting designation
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full cycle budget/accounting experience, including report preparation and analysis, project accounting, general ledger entry and complex reconciliations
  • Current knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of a personal computer and software (MS Word, Excel, Financial Accounting & Human Resource Management) in a Windows environment
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
  • Effective analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • Ability to perform detailed, accurate work
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports by explaining complex information in plain language
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
