Job Title: Communicative Disorders Assistant

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is seeking a qualified Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated individual to provide speech and language intervention to students, carry out screenings, and support staff and parents with oral language strategies and assistive technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech and language intervention to students under the guidance of Speech Language Pathologists
  • Carry out speech, language, and hearing screenings
  • Train, model, and support students, staff, and parents with general oral language strategies, assistive technology, augmentative, and alternative communication systems
Qualifications:
  • Minimum two-year college diploma with a specialty in health, community services, or social services
  • Post-secondary graduate certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistant
  • Six months of hands-on experience as a CDA
  • Effective communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to protect sensitive information
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
