SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER

THE ROLE:

In this high-profile role, you will have great exposure to all the latest technologies in the computer graphics industry. As a Senior Program Manager in the Software QA, Client APU team, you will manage and deliver Client's full range of product roadmap commitments from feasibility to completion of the programs, planning and coordinating SW validation of CPU/APU programs. The individual is expected to supervise all aspects of the project, and to work directly with Business, Engineering organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient execution of AMD's APU programs, meeting scope, quality objectives, and customer needs.

THE PERSON:

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs, you will also drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that align to business strategy

You will also take ownership of issues and approach challenges relentlessly with both critical thinking and creativity - We want someone who will lead and influence the team with solid communication and collaboration skills. You drive clarity and organization in chaotic situations and comfortably prioritize a dynamic set of tasks and responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ownership of successful APU program delivery within POR schedule, budget, and resourcesDefine, plan, and drive engineering programs in collaboration with senior technical guidanceProvide program management leadership to technical teams spanning multiple disciplines/geographiesKey liaison between validation team and other stakeholders on all matters pertaining to successful project executionCapture and assess program requirements, and scope Software QA effort in alignment with business objectiveCreate and maintain project management artifacts such as schedule, resource bookings and resource forecast, risk and issues logs Responsible for crafting formal artifacts including Validation Test Strategy, Validation Plan of Record, and test alignment for the deliverablesReview and clarify Software specification and requirement from SW architect/development teams, and work with Test content owners on crafting test contents for new featuresAbility to identify and prevent risk in early phase, and put together mitigation plan to address any concerns to bring project back on trackOutstanding presentation skill, be able to provide regular program readout for test validation status, and to deliver clear and concise executive summary to senior management/executivesCollaborate in problem solving and mitigating risks with Business Units, Engineering, Program/Project Management, and Senior Leadership.Work closely with development team to debug and triage software issues, and perform code reviewsCollect, analyze, organize and publish work performance data via dashboards and recurring status reports Conduct Program exit review with external teams, all stakeholders, and executives regarding quality of programA successful candidate will drive various cross functional initiatives/innovation, also explore opportunities to improve for overall workflow, entrance and exit criteria of future projects

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Possess a thorough knowledge of the principles of project management and can apply them effectively on small to large size projects Strong software development, debugging and test automation knowledge; demonstrated understanding of SW QA process & methodologySolid understanding of, or interest in PC Graphics(Computer displays, HDTV, VR), on-line and off-line multimedia content streaming/playback, file transcoding, 3D graphics concepts, DirectX and / or OpenGL, 3D/VR gaming, and game engine technologiesPossess technical capacity to fully understand SW features implementationExceptional verbal and written communication skills – experience on executive readout/briefingOutstanding in analytical, problem solving, and risk management skillsIn-depth knowledge of software testing techniques and methodologies, debugging and programming knowledgeFamiliarity with industry standard project and defects management tools, such as Jira and ConfluenceStrong self-motivator, with a sense of urgency when needed and strong crisis management skillsBe able to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science, or equivalent degreeHands on Program Management experience in handling Software project delivery; Technical Project Management experience is a big bonus.PMP Course Completion and other specialized certification/ education in Program Management is a plus.
