Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Cardiac Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in our Interventional Cardiology unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the acute medical unit.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to provide person-centered care, promoting patient autonomy, dignity, and access to information.
  • Develop and implement care plans, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities to support staff.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
  • Document patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Participate in research and education activities, staying current with best practices and emerging trends in cardiac care.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course, or post basic High Acuity Course, approved Arrhythmia interpretation course, plus one year's recent experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current CPR (Level C) Basic Rescuer Certificate.
