Deputy Fire Chief

Seeking a Deputy Fire Chief to provide direction to Fire Service resources in support of the Towns of Aurora and Newmarket, with a focus on planning, organizing, and directing fire suppression, public education, and emergency services operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary degree in Public or Business Administration and formal Fire Protection training, with progressively responsible experience at a senior supervisory level. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic direction to Fire Service resources
- Developing and implementing emergency management plans
- Coordinating fire suppression, public education, and emergency services operations
- Managing budgets and preparing reports
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
- Responding to emergency situations and attending meetings and events
The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels. Proficiency in Records Management Systems and MS Office is also required.
