Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services. As a key member of our Patient Services department, you will provide administrative support to our Care Coordinators and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support services to Care Coordinators, including processing new referrals, orders, and patient records.
  • Enter, update, and maintain patient data in our electronic database.
  • Answer telephone inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, and refer callers as appropriate.
  • Provide backup support to other positions as required.
Requirements
  • A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration.
  • 2+ years' related office experience.
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills.
  • Proficient with database software, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening skills.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of services provided by Home and Community Care Support Services.
  • Ability to speak French or another second language.
