Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. The RN will work under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services or designate and will be responsible for providing independent nursing services, administering prescribed medical treatments, and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing services for patients with complex health needs
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments
  • Facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Recent, related experience in mental health nursing
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses
  • Knowledge of Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the healthcare team
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values
  • Competency in an Indigenous language
  • Experience working with patients with complex health needs
