Water Resources Engineer

GEMTEC is a dynamic and growing firm with a strong presence in Atlantic Canada and Ontario. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team.

We are looking for a talented individual who is passionate about water resource management and has a strong background in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering. As a Water Resources Engineer at GEMTEC, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from hydrogeological and environmental projects to water resource management and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support on water resources projects, including data collection, data analysis, technical report writing, and proposal preparation.
  • Coordinate with hydrogeologists and other multidisciplinary teams to support environmental field biological and hydrological surveys, soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water sampling, and contaminated site assessment programs.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and cost estimates, performing engineering and geoscience analysis, and writing technical reports presenting field findings, data analysis results, recommendations, etc.
  • Conduct studies and develop plans to manage water resources, including surface and groundwater, stormwater, and wastewater.
  • Analyze hydrologic data and use modeling software to create simulations and predictions of the water cycle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering.
  • Registration or Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • 5+ years of experience in water resource engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of water resource management principles, including hydrology, water quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience using modeling software, such as HEC-HMS, MODFLOW, or SWMM.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a team of professionals and effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD software is a plus.
