Job Summary

Bureau Veritas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Laboratory Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring that all samples are processed and analyzed in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Lead and develop a team of laboratory technicians and support staff
    • Provide guidance and coaching to ensure that team members are meeting their performance goals and objectives
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
  • Sample Logistics and Quality Control
    • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and processing of samples
    • Ensure that all samples are properly labeled and stored
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all samples are being processed accurately and efficiently
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Develop and implement processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
    • Monitor and analyze laboratory performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve laboratory productivity and efficiency
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management, and clients to ensure that all samples are being processed and analyzed in a timely and accurate manner
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all laboratory operations are aligned with company goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. chemistry, biology, environmental science)
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
