About the Role:
Bureau Veritas Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Archivist Specialist to join our team. As an Archivist Specialist, you will be responsible for the management of all samples for archiving, retrieval, and disposal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the placement, archiving, retrieval, and disposal of all samples.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of cold rooms.
- Dispose of samples that have reached their disposal date.
- Place soil, water, dry, and oil samples in various locations through the assignment of archive BINS.
- Maintain the archival station and surrounding area, ensuring a clear walkway.
- Organize the storage of samples for clients and contracts that require sample retention for an extended period.
- Retrieve samples from storage for additional analyses.
- Work closely with project managers to determine sample disposal, retention, or return to clients.
- Collaborate with the customer service group, sample entry, and project managers to provide excellent client service.
- Follow the Standard Operating Procedure established by Bureau Veritas for sample archiving and disposal.
- Adhere to and participate in all quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Maintain employee files up to date.
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Education or its equivalence with at least one year of related experience.
- Fluency in English – spoken and written.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Responsibility, independence, dedication, and motivation with excellent team spirit.
- Computer knowledge would be an asset.
Working Conditions:
- High level of work production in a fast-paced lab environment.
- May require flexible working hours, overtime, weekend, and shift work.
- May involve long periods of standing.
- Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate PPE.
- Some lifting and carrying.
