Meat Stocker Position Summary

A Meat Stocker is responsible for maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing department, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to the company's values and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Zoning the department to ensure efficient stock rotation and customer flow.
  • Rotating stock and checking for expired products to maintain high-quality merchandise.
  • Ensuring merchandise is properly signed and priced to meet company standards.
  • Adhering to cold chain compliance, food handling, and product rotation policies to ensure customer safety.
  • Preparing deli food orders, slicing and preparing meat, cheese, and other products, and providing requested assistance to customers.
  • Following proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels, and other departmental tasks.
  • Preparing deli food orders, utilizing slicers, stackers, and other utensils, and filling prepared salads and side dishes for display and customer orders.
  • Following Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Minimum Qualifications:

The following qualifications are required for this position:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with customers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred for this position:

  • Previous experience in a retail or food service environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
