Nova Scotia Health is the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia, with a mission to achieve excellence in health, healing, and learning. We operate hospitals, health centres, and community-based programs across the province, providing a variety of inpatient and outpatient services.
We're looking for a Quality Improvement & Safety Leader to provide leadership in our provincial and zone programs for quality, safety, accreditation, and risk management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management, with experience in leading investigations, facilitating quality reviews, and implementing improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Undergraduate degree from a health care profession program/discipline
- Master's level preparation in a clinical health discipline, Health Services Administration, Business Administration or a related program an asset
- Minimum of 5 years quality and patient safety leadership experience, with 5 years of relevant clinical experience in a health care environment
- Access to a reliable form of transportation required
- Appropriate licensure/membership in professional organizations
- Certificate or training related to quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, or related program an asset
- Experience in planning and implementing strategic activities related to accreditation, safety, quality improvement, infection control and prevention practices, risk management, patient relations and patient engagement
- Experience engaging teams, leaders, medical staff, clinicians, patients/clients and stakeholders in a collaborative, participatory manner
- Experience and demonstrated expertise with data management, data analysis and statistical manipulation; excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and graphics software required
- Experience in project management and program evaluation an asset
- Demonstrated ability of independent decision making, creativity, self-direction, motivation, change management and team building/ leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment
- Demonstrates a positive, solution oriented and collaborative approach and is comfortable navigating complex system issues
The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Permanent, full-time position, 75 hours bi-weekly, with a salary of $57.05 hourly.
