As a Building Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of a building or campus by performing routine maintenance tasks and responding to emergencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and documenting equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Recording information from meters and gauges to verify operating conditions
  • Notifying managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, and electrical systems
  • Conducting facility fire drills and documenting the results
  • Attending Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings
  • Monitoring building security and safety
  • Assisting with special projects, such as cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Driving vehicles required to perform work
  • Responding to building emergencies as outlined by the Compass on-call policy

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Maintenance Worker or in a similar role
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Able to work well with others, be flexible, and patient
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
