Job Summary

StandardAero is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our Test Facility Engineering Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems for testing gas turbine engines and test facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Direct the planning, design, engineering, procurement, cost, scheduling, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities of multiple major projects by coordinating efforts of various internal departments, project teams, and outside consulting resources.
  • Design and Engineering: Prepare conceptual and detailed designs of major engineering projects requiring mechanical considerations.
  • Technical Leadership: Manage projects based on approved timelines and project management principles.
  • Contract Management: Review and evaluate contracts for work to be performed by consultants and outside contractors, approve plans and designs, and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor all work in progress to ensure that quality and engineering standards are met.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as a liaison with internal and external customers, assuring satisfaction with progress and quality.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in projects as a team member and/or team project leader.
  • Special Duties: Carry out special duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Education: University degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Skills: Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision-making, oral, and written communication skills. Strong project management skills. Experience with project management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of PCs in the current company operating system environment. Working knowledge of federal and provincial fire, building, plumbing, and electrical codes. Working knowledge of gas turbine engines and specific product knowledge.
