Staff Development Instructor required to deliver high standard of care in Home Care Direct Service Staff. Recent relevant experience in care and/or education in healthcare field required.

Job Summary: We are seeking a Staff Development Instructor to contribute to the delivery of high standard of care in Home Care Direct Service Staff. The successful candidate will have recent relevant experience in care and/or education in the healthcare field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of Orientation and ongoing Staff Development programs for Direct Service Staff.
  • Participate in the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of supplementary training staff/volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Recent relevant experience in the provision of care and/or experience educating and evaluating skills of individuals in the healthcare field.
  • Minimum of two years recent Occupational Therapy experience in a community or health care setting, with at least one year in the area of assessment, instruction and/or application of ergonomic principles preferred.
  • Experience in adult education preferred.

Education:

  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated as determined by the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM); or,
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education will be an asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

  • Registration is required with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) with the incumbent's name entered in the practicing register.
  • Member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists in an asset; or,
  • Must be registered on the Practicing Roster of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba.
  • Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency with computers is required.
  • Knowledge of InterRAI, EHCR, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point is an asset.

Additional Requirements: A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check is required as a condition of employment.
