Staff Development Instructor

The Staff Development Instructor plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients through the Home Care Direct Service Staff. Under the supervision of the Manager Health Services, this position contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of Orientation and ongoing Staff Development programs. Additionally, the Staff Development Instructor participates in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of supplementary training staff/volunteers.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver training programs for Direct Service Staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the Manager Health Services to design and implement Staff Development programs that meet the needs of the Home Care Direct Service Staff.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to Direct Service Staff to support their professional growth and development.
- Participate in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of supplementary training staff/volunteers.
- Recent relevant experience in the provision of care and/or experience educating and evaluating skills of individuals in the healthcare field.
- Experience in adult education is preferred.
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Current Food Handler's Certificate required.
- Proficiency with computers and knowledge of InterRAI, EHCR, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point are assets.
The Staff Development Instructor will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Staff Development Instructor will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
