Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructor to join our team as a Social Innovation and Community Development Instructor. As an instructor, you will be responsible for providing post-secondary education to adult learners in the Community Development field.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lesson plans and activities within a hybrid learning environment
- Utilize knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting principles to support instruction
- Evaluate student performance, grade, and revise content as required
- Monitor academic progress and provide feedback in a diplomatic and timely fashion
- Classroom management to ensure a smooth and effective class for all attendees
- Provide additional support to students in achieving goals and provide community-centered supports and resources if required
- Participate with student and community events and activities
Requirements
- Two+ years of experience in teaching or training adult learners, preferably in a vocational college setting or similar
- Post-Secondary Education in Education, Teaching for Life, is considered an asset
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Dependable, approachable, adaptable, and flexible
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, must thrive in a team environment
- Demonstrated commitment to the strengths and values of Indigenous knowledge, cultural reclamation, and traditional practices
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Dependable problem solver that enjoys critical thinking
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
- Bondable and able to work in Canada
- Have a Valid Manitoba Class 5 Drivers' License
