**Job Title: Director of Corporate Administration** **Job Summary:** We seek a dynamic leader with expertise in local government legislation to oversee Corporate Administration, providing strategic and operational leadership to the team.

Director of Corporate Administration

Permanent Full-Time

The District of Squamish is seeking a dynamic leader with sound knowledge of all legislation governing local governments who will work closely with leaders across the organization and with external legal professionals. The Director is responsible for all activities of the department and provides leadership at both the strategic and operational levels to the Corporate Administration team. As a key member of the leadership team, this position ensures the delivery of services to the organization related to Records Management, Council support, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, Election Administration, and more

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Corporate Administration team
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation governing local governments
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the department
  • Collaborate with external legal professionals to ensure effective governance
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of services related to Records Management, Council support, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, Election Administration, and more

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • Five years experience as a Corporate Officer or municipal lawyer
  • Certified or Master Municipal Clerk designation
  • Parliamentary procedures courses and experience
  • Administration of at least two local elections, preferably utilizing electronic voting machines
  • Three year's experience as Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Head
  • Minimum seven years progressive experience as a Corporate Officer
