Pharmacy Assistant

The Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties. This position requires a team player who can provide exceptional customer service and participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prescription Processing: Receive prescriptions from patients, ensuring completeness and accuracy, and prioritize prescriptions according to established guidelines.
- Computer Functions: Perform data entry, price checks, patient information updates, and competent interpretation and processing of written prescriptions, including Latin abbreviations and dosage calculations.
- Prescription Filling: Fill prescriptions under the supervision of the Pharmacist, selecting appropriate products, performing accuracy checks, and labeling and organizing for pharmacist checking.
- Inventory Control: Maintain inventory levels, assist the Pharmacist in ordering drugs and supplies, and check for expired medications.
- General Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including stocking prescription filling supplies, cleaning equipment, and completing administrative tasks.
- Clerical Organization: File prescriptions, invoices, reports, and correspondence, and complete administrative support functions as assigned.
- OTC Operations: Assist with OTC operations, ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager and/or Pharmacist.
