Seeking an Actuarial Co-op/Intern to contribute to the development of solutions to challenging client issues, working under the guidance of senior staff and delivering consulting services to defined benefit clients.

The Actuarial Co-op/Intern will be responsible for completing actuarial valuations for multiemployer pension plans, public pension plans and other actuarial projects under the supervision of experienced actuaries.

Key responsibilities include researching and gathering information, reviewing and analyzing work products, providing input to the development of solutions, creating and updating valuation programs and spreadsheet applications, and assisting with report preparation and government filings.

The qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years of undergraduate education or an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related discipline, completion of at least one actuarial exam, and relevant computer and software skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching and gathering information.
  • Reviewing and analyzing work products, including plan data and financial statements.
  • Providing input to the development of solutions.
  • Creating and updating valuation programs and spreadsheet applications.
  • Assisting with report preparation and government filings.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of undergraduate education or an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related discipline.
  • Completion of at least one actuarial exam.
  • Relevant computer and software skills.
  • Task management skills.
  • Detail-orientation, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills.
