Actuarial Co-Op Student

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Co-Op Student to join our team at Liberty Mutual Canada. As an Actuarial Co-Op Student, you will assist senior actuary staff with various responsibilities and functions, while learning actuarial theories and procedures.
About the Role:The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. You will also have the chance to develop your skills in programming languages such as R and Python, and work with complex insurance data.
Key Responsibilities:- Extract and manipulate data from various sources and systems
- Work with detailed insurance data, including premium and loss data, exposure data, and financial data
- Calculate premium rate changes, exposure changes, loss development factors, and other quantities
- Produce high-quality reports and exhibits for senior actuarial and business use
- Assist with actuarial pricing and profitability studies for individual accounts and entire portfolios
- Work with loss development triangles and quarterly actuarial loss reserving and year-end analysis
- Develop financial models, financial plans, and scenario stress testing
- Currently enrolled in a university degree program in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or other relevant disciplines
- Solid academic standing in Mathematics, Statistics, and analytical skills at the university undergraduate level
- Strong interest in developing high-level programming and data analytic skills
- Basic knowledge of insurance principles
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Very strong work ethic and willingness to continually learn
