Actuarial Co-op Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented students to join our Actuarial Co-op Program. As an Actuarial Assistant, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, working with a dynamic team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in data preparation, validation, and analysis of premium, claims, and other data
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models using software such as SAS, MS Access, and Excel
  • Communicate results with finance and business stakeholders, securing their buy-in
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Develop product knowledge and stay up-to-date with industry trends
  • Participate in rate filing preparations and support implementation of rate changes

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate students completing their penultimate year, with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Strong academic record, with a focus on actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with a commitment to passing actuarial examinations
  • Self-motivated team player, with a detail-oriented approach to work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of Microsoft Access, VBA, or SAS considered an asset
