Front Counter Representative

As a key member of the UBC team, the Front Counter Representative will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the everyday operation of the Accommodation Office. This includes, but is not limited to, reservations, guest registration, billing, and special payment arrangements, as well as night audit during the winter season.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Registration: Verify guest information, balance cash and receipts, and maintain a functional cash float.
- Reservations: Receive and process reservation requests, collect and post advance deposits, and maintain a Lost and Found log.
- Night Audit: Perform computer audit, balance debit authorization machine, and maintain filing system of computer-generated reports.
- High school graduation, plus one year of related training, plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Hospitality industry training or experience in conferences and accommodation operations.
- Basic office procedures and practices training, as well as office experience and/or relevant UBC experience.
- Ability to operate job-related equipment, such as multi-line phones and computer systems.
The Front Counter Representative will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with guests, colleagues, and management. The role requires flexibility, including evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
Reporting StructureThe Front Counter Representative will report directly to the Front Desk Manager and work within well-defined guidelines and procedures.
