Smack Pet Food Inc. is a family-owned business located in Winnipeg, MB, celebrating 17 years of manufacturing raw dehydrated food for dogs and cats. We market and sell our products to retailers and consumers.

Job Summary:

The Sales Director will develop sales strategies and execute plans to increase our presence on US pet store shelves. This role involves overseeing, coaching, and expanding a team of salespeople focused on cold-calling, attending trade shows, and analyzing sales funnel reports to identify opportunities for improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop annual sales targets and plans with senior leadership
  • Coach and mentor the sales team to achieve individual targets
  • Take ownership of the sales process and identify ways to improve it
  • Attend trade shows to build and nurture relationships with retailers
  • Build and execute a plan to grow the sales team
  • Work closely with Customer Success to onboard and train new accounts
  • Develop short-term goals and milestones for landing new accounts
  • Provide regular detailed sales reports and action plans based on trends in the data
  • Ensure the sales team's CRM is up to date and used correctly
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of sales experience with a proven ability to meet targets
  • At least 3 years of cold-calling experience
  • 3-5 years of experience leading and motivating a team
  • Willingness to travel to domestic and international trade shows
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with sales reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Proficiency with CRMs
Compensation:
  • Base salary between $105,000 and $120,000
  • Team commission incentives
