Job Overview

At Englobe, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Technologist to join our team in Saskatoon. As a key member of our Mechanical team, you will play a crucial role in the development of building mechanical systems, working closely with our project managers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop 2D and 3D documentation for building mechanical systems using industry-standard software
  • Support project managers and mechanical engineers in systems design and development
  • Monitor and ensure quality control during construction, ensuring that all mechanical systems meet Englobe's high standards
  • Generate technical information with minimal guidance and supervision, working independently to develop complete and final drawings/models from general conceptual information and design notes
  • Coordinate Englobe's drawings with those of other disciplines on each project, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration
  • Accountable to other team members and the Project Manager for drawing/model production, applying and promoting Englobe's health and safety rules
Requirements
  • Certificate or Diploma in a related mechanical technology or drafting technology program, or equivalent experience, from an accredited technical college or institute, with an emphasis on facility design and/or building science
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical design engineering for buildings or equivalent experience and responsibilities
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Autodesk Revit in mechanical system design
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD is considered an asset
  • Experience with various types of building and site mechanical systems and the ability to conceptualize in three dimensions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce well-written reports and technical specifications
