Job Summary:
- Provide quality nursing care to residents by assisting in their daily living activities, providing personal care, and promoting independent living.
- Meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of residents through partnerships with the resident, the resident's family, and other members of the interprofessional team.
- Accountable for the planning and supervision of care, within their scope of practice, and provide support and direction to Personal Care Attendants.

Job Demands:
- Regularly requires physical exertion and handling, moving, pushing, or pulling objects between 25 and 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to work in awkward cramped positions (bending/kneeling/stretching) and constantly standing and moving about.
- Regularly pushes and pulls objects using light to medium forces and stands and walks.
- Regularly requires visual concentration to give medications, read orders/referrals, patients' charts/document, observe and treat patients combined with time pressures and deadlines.
Job Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Current licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL).
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Gerontology experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of seniors' issues and support best practice in gerontological care.
- Ability to deal effectively with end-of-life issues.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently.
