Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including physical and emotional evaluations, to identify potential health risks and develop strategies for prevention and management.
  • Develop and implement education programs for patients, families, and healthcare staff to promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador and current Nurse Practitioner License.
  • Graduation from an approved/recognized post-secondary nursing education program with a Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner.
  • A minimum of five years of acute clinical experience within the last seven, with an expertise in Critical Care.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Experience working independently with limited supervision and in collaboration with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certification.
