**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Editor to join our team at the National Gallery of Canada. As an Editor, you will be responsible for coordinating publishing projects, editing and revising complex art historical manuscripts, exhibition-related documents, and a wide range of educational, promotional, corporate, and other texts aimed at various audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate publishing projects from manuscript to final product
  • Edit and revise complex art historical manuscripts, exhibition-related documents, and other texts
  • Work with a team of French and English editors to ensure high-quality output
  • Review and oversee projects to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of modern publishing and the book trade
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in French literature or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in editing, copy-editing, and proof-reading art books, art magazines, historical texts, and scholarly and literary texts
  • Excellent research skills, including fact-checking and accuracy
  • Strong knowledge of French language and grammar, as well as good knowledge of English language and comparative editing
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Acrobat, and electronic mail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
