Medical Device Reprocessing Technician 2

Join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices.
About the Role- Process instruments, utensils, and respiratory equipment in preparation for sterilization.
- Operate sterilization systems, prepare devices for sterilization, and monitor processing readings and quality assurance.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of quality policies and procedures, as well as infection control principles.
- Prepare linen bundles for the Operating Rooms and handle and transport sterile supplies throughout the Centre.
- Interact with hospital personnel to ensure supply issues are met and pick up and transport soiled instruments and equipment.
- Current Medical Device/Operating Room experience required.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must be fluent in written and verbal English, and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be versatile and rotate through and assist with all assignments.
- Work involves frequent exposure to infectious body and blood borne organisms when working with soiled equipment.
- Position involves meticulous attention to detail with regards to technical and mechanical ability.
- Must maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Pushing and pulling sterilizer carts and supply carts as required.
- Walking is a major portion of activity when sterilizing and transporting.
- Bending and stooping.
- Loading and unloading of carts.
- Lifting and positioning of articles in excess of 14 pounds.
- Repetitive hand arm and shoulder motions and long periods of standing.
