**Job Summary**

The Supervisor, Medical Device Reprocessing is a key member of the St. Boniface Hospital team, responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of processes related to Medical Device Reprocessing. This includes managing physical, financial, and human resources to ensure the integrity of medical device reprocessing functions within the supply chain.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Manage and maintain all processes related to Medical Device Reprocessing, ensuring compliance with hospital management values and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with the WRHA Regional Medical Device Reprocessing Program to ensure seamless integration of medical device reprocessing functions.
  • Supervise and lead a team of medical device reprocessing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality of medical device reprocessing services.
  • Participate in hospital-wide and regional committees to ensure alignment with hospital management values and operational standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in medical device reprocessing, applying knowledge to improve processes and services.

**Requirements**

  • Three (3) years' experience in Medical Device Reprocessing Department.
  • Management/supervisory experience required.
  • Completion of Grade 12 education required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree or post-secondary education in a healthcare-related field required.
  • Successful completion of the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Certificate Program from a recognized MDR course within fifteen (15) months from acceptance of position.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teaching skills required.
  • Supplementary courses in leadership, communication, quality assurance preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and current software applications.
  • Critical thinking application essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Must be able to handle highly stressed situations.
