Job Summary

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is seeking a highly skilled Library Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our school-based library team, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in the coordination of library activities and the use of library facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the operation of the library facility, providing direct service to students and/or teachers.
  • Support students and volunteers under the supervision of teaching staff in coordinating library activities and the use of library facilities.
  • Process, store, loan, and maintain all materials in the library.
  • Work in a team environment, reporting directly to the School Principal or designate.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Library Information Management or equivalent training and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
