About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Attendant to join our team at The Palace Home in Alexandria, ON. As an Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Meaningful Relationships: Foster strong relationships with residents, employees, and stakeholders by promoting the Resident's Bill of Rights.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Act as a promoter for our Home by demonstrating excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist Residents and Families: Answer questions and resolve queries through phone, in-person, and provide support to residents and their family members.
  • Coordinate Care: Work with physicians and nurses to provide medication and treatments to residents in a timely and proper manner.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure confidentiality by maintaining proper documentation of residents' files and recording information for future references.
  • Perform Routine Tasks: Follow specific procedures to perform routine tasks, including cleaning duties, replenishing supplies, laundry duties, food storage and serving, and other administrative duties.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma is required; a degree with Hospitality education, OHS, and food safety will be considered an asset.
  • Passionate about caring for the needs of others.
  • Previous work experience in long-term care or retirement homes can be considered an asset but is not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Completed or currently enrolled in Safe Food Handling course.
  • A completed TB skin test and a clear vulnerable sector check must be provided upon acceptance of an offer of employment.
