Laboratory Technologist Position Available

The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by performing medical laboratory tests and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Perform medical laboratory tests and analysis to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures, and ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Support the Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy and participate in quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety activities.
- Perform work in accordance with applicable provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, professional standards, and hospital policies and procedures.
- A diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Certification by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
- 1-year core lab experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience working independently.
- Experience with current laboratory analyzers.
- Experience with the current Laboratory Information System (e.g. Meditech).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Computer literacy using Microsoft office products.
The successful candidate must be able to work any combination of days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call. They must also be able to work at both sites of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital and meet the physical demands of the MLT position.
Salary$50.24 per hour.
