Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Ponoka Hospital and Care Ctr and two additional locations. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will be responsible for performing procedures in both laboratory and diagnostic imaging settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze biological specimens, conduct X-ray examinations, ECGs, and report results.
  • Prepare patients, perform venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, and maintain supplies.
  • Perform quality control procedures as required and work collaboratively with patients, families, staff, and inter-disciplinary team members.
Requirements
  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Laboratory equipment, including hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis.
  • Recent cardiology experience, including ECGs.
  • Diagnostic Imaging experience, including DR, CR, and mobile radiography.
  • Current phlebotomy experience, including venipuncture, micropuncture, blood culture, and Type and Screen on all ages and patient types.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
