About the Job: We are seeking a skilled Nutrition and Food Service Worker to join our team at Huron Lodge. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our residents and guests.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Manager of Nutrition & Dietary Services, this position will be responsible for general duties in regards to all Nutrition and food service functions, including kitchen services, pantries, café and dining room.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve meals to residents and guests
  • Transport food and equipment to and from dining areas
  • Keep work areas and equipment sanitized and clean
  • Wash dishes and pots and pans
  • Keep kitchen, café, services and pantries and dining areas well stocked
  • Service meals to residents and guests
  • Prepare special foods for special functions
  • Ensure special diets are observed and carried out
Requirements:
  • Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma combined with a Food Service Worker Certificate from a Community College
  • Food Handlers Certificate from Windsor-Essex County Health Unit or from a recognized Community College or organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience with the elderly is desirable
  • Previous kitchen experience will be considered an asset
