About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Vehicle Transportation Inspection (VTI) division as the Senior Director. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic vision to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and goods in the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the VTI division and provide strategic direction to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve safety and efficiency in the transportation sector.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and other provinces to advance the industry and promote harmonization.
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations on matters related to commercial vehicle, passenger vehicle, and public passenger transportation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior government officials, industry leaders, and jurisdictional representatives.
Requirements
  • High degree of diplomacy and understanding of the needs of the public passenger, passenger, and commercial vehicle industry.
  • Progressive leadership experience with a strong track record of success.
  • Familiarity with the various acts and regulations that guide the industry, including the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act, Public Highways Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Motor Carrier Act.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to balance multi-dimensional problems involving diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel throughout the province and represent the province's interests on various boards and committees.
