About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Consultant to join our team at Aon Corporation. As a Senior Investment Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering investment consulting material and advice to institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investment Consulting Services: Provide consulting support services and technical support on a range of advisory and OCIO Investment clients and accounts, including pension and benefit plans (DB and DC), insurance funds, trust and endowment funds, and other special purpose funds.
  • Client Relationship Management: Anticipate client issues, needs or concerns and proactively develop solutions to meet those needs in partnership with the Account Executive/lead Consultants.
  • Account Review and Recommendations: Review client accounts and relationships and recommend ways to improve the value Aon brings to the client, based on a deep understanding of the client's business and insight into industry and investment trends.
  • Business Development: Raise the profile of Aon and contribute to the development of the go-to-market strategy for the Investment Consulting Practice.
  • Presentation and Communication: Assist in preparing and giving effective presentations to clients or prospects, as part of a team or individually.
  • Service Enhancement: Identify gaps between client needs and existing Aon Investment Consulting services, propose and develop service enhancements, adding to Aon's product/service portfolio and intellectual capital.
  • Collaboration and Mentoring: Work with other professional advisers, both internally and externally, on institutional investment funds across Canada, and provide guidance, mentoring and support to junior Investment Consulting colleagues as they serve their clients.
Requirements
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in a financial/investment consulting environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of institutional investment and investment industry insight and processes, ideally gained from direct experience in a manager research, fund management, investment consulting or in a plan sponsor role.
  • Investment Concepts: Understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets.
  • Canadian Pension Fund Market: Knowledge of the Canadian pension fund market.
  • Client Relationship Management: Proven client relationship management skills, ability to support a book of business.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate strong client-facing skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and information and to respond promptly and effectively to all inquiries.
  • Technical Expertise: Technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current concerning investment industry trends, activity in the market, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, Actuarial Science or Commerce or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
