Senior Investment Consultant

Aon Hewitt is seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Consultant to join our team. As a Senior Investment Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering investment consulting material and advice to institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing consulting support services and technical support on a range of advisory and OCIO Investment clients and accounts;
  • Anticipating client issues, needs or concerns and proactively developing solutions to meet those needs in partnership with the Account Executive/lead Consultants;
  • Reviewing client accounts and relationships and recommending ways to improve the value Aon brings to the client, based on a deep understanding of the client's business and insight into industry and investment trends;
  • Contributing to the development of the go to market strategy for the Investment Consulting Practice;
  • Identifying gaps between client needs and existing Aon Investment Consulting services; proposing and developing service enhancements, adding to Aon's product/service portfolio and intellectual capital;
  • Providing guidance, mentoring and support to junior Investment Consulting colleagues as they serve their clients, ensuring high standards of service.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in financial / investment consulting environment;
  • Thorough understanding of institutional investment and investment industry insight and processes;
  • Understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets;
  • Knowledge of the Canadian pension fund market;
  • Ability to support a book of business;
  • Manage an extensive portfolio of diverse Institutional clients, including interaction with C-suite level personnel and investment committees in these client groups;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical decision-making, and developing solutions for clients/business issues;
  • Entrepreneurial and creative spirit by recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities to help with the growth and expansion of the organization;
  • Able to work independently on various projects, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced; high-pressure environment and meet project targets;
  • Technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current concerning investment industry trends, activity in the market, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes;
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite of business applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Some travel is required to service clients;
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, Actuarial Science or Commerce or a related field, or equivalent years of experience;
  • Completion of an MBA or CFA is preferred.
