Salary: $79,903.20 to $99, annually

Position Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator III/Registered Nurse will work closely with Principal Investigators and the health care team to assume responsibility for the overall patient management and coordination of various programs (e.g. Duodopa, Vyalev, Brain donation) and clinical studies.

Duties

  • Recruitment of study participants (e.g. identifying, screening potential participants & obtaining informed consent)
  • Planning, implementing and coordinating all aspects of study visits including scheduling patient visits, arranging & uploading of imaging scans, assisting with lumbar punctures & skin biopsies, documentation of adverse events & concomitant medications, administration of neuropsychological & cognitive questionnaires, eye tracking, sample collection, sample processing & shipping according to study protocol.
  • Executing study-related administrative tasks, such as collation of regulatory documents, submissions to the Research Ethics Board and other regulatory agencies as required, completion of relevant study CRFs, logs and entering in to databases in a timely manner.
  • Insertion and management of IV infusions & saline locks, reconstitution of medications & teaching of injections and medical devices.
  • Liaising with CROs/sponsors, internal/external stakeholders & members of the health care team.
  • Preparing and liaising with CROs/sponsors for monitoring visits and/or audits.
  • Organizing, presenting, teaching and attending ongoing meetings.
  • Contributing to protocol development, teaching and educational material.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or recognized equivalent, in a health or science-related discipline
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical research experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years clinical experience in Neurology with strong knowledge base in Parkinson's disease
  • Prior experience in the coordination and administration of clinical trials
  • Experience with research regulatory submissions is a strong asset
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification preferred
  • Knowledge of IATA (International Air Transport Association) shipping regulations and laboratory procedures preferred
  • Previous experience with neurological clinical trials and/or PI initiated trials preferred
  • Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, such as ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills & attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task & perform with accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-developed leadership & excellent interpersonal skills
