Work Hours: Standard hours per week
Compensation: $79,903 - $99,879 annually, based on experience and UHN compensation policies

Role Summary

The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator plays a pivotal role in collaborating with Investigators and the healthcare team to oversee patient management and coordination of various clinical studies within the Department of Medical Oncology and Haematology. This position primarily focuses on the Gastrointestinal disease site team.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Engaging in the recruitment of study participants, which involves identifying and screening potential subjects and obtaining informed consent;
  • Organizing patient visit schedules in accordance with study protocols and executing all components of study visits, including adverse event assessments, safety monitoring, medication administration, and sample collection;
  • Delivering clinical care to patients involved in clinical trials and ensuring the implementation and coordination of all data collection and source documentation, adhering to UHN policies and ICH/GCP guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of three years of experience.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • BScN is preferred.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in oncology, particularly in GI Oncology.
  • Certification in clinical research (CCRP) and/or oncology nursing (CON(c)) is preferred or in progress.
  • Previous experience in clinical research is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to utilize the nursing process effectively in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
  • Strong skills in physical and psychosocial assessment, as well as patient and family education.
  • Demonstrated autonomous clinical critical thinking abilities.
  • Training in ICH/GCP guidelines is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IATA shipping regulations and basic laboratory procedures is beneficial.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with precision in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is desired.
