Sponsorship Officer

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Sponsorship, the Sponsorship Officer is responsible for soliciting and securing funding from corporate partners, developing compelling sponsorship strategies, providing support for the NGC's sponsorship and corporate partnership efforts, coordinating and assisting in the activities of the Public Affairs and Marketing division, communication, stewardship, and general fundraising activities and initiatives.
They identify prospects, evaluate opportunities, generate leads, build a pipeline, and develop integrated proposals and sponsorship agreements that align with the NGC's strategic priorities. They also develop, sell, and execute sponsorship and corporate partnership projects, working with other NGC departments and the NGC Foundation. The Sponsorship Officer plans, manages, and executes fulfillment of sponsor benefits and recognition by liaising with external partners and Gallery staff.
Education:
• Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing, or Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience:
• 5-7 years of experience in sales, sponsorship, fundraising, or business development;
• 3-5 years of experience with marketing, digital media and/or content marketing;
• 3-5 years of experience in client relationship management;
• Experience working in the museum or cultural sector is an asset;
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM is an asset;
Abilities/Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French;
• Ability to create, develop and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders: corporations, organizations, community partners, etc.;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and persuasiveness;
• Strong analysis, synthesis and research skills to evaluate strategic alignment and respond with compelling proposals;
• Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate many simultaneous projects with different deadlines and purposes, and numerous participants;
• Strong initiative and ownership in order to provide strategic solutions and carry out projects from start to finish;
• Self-starter with motivation to achieve revenue targets;
